Beware; for I am fearless and therefore powerful.

Hi! I’m Dee aka elegia. I use she/her pronouns. I’m a Scottish self-taught photographer currently based in Manchester, UK.

I grew up in North Ayrshire and studied fine art, creative writing and poetry. I eventually fell into photography via modelling back in 2011-ish. I work with mixed media and analog. I love cinema, music, architecture and design, and my work is very much inspired by all of these. I also have AuDHD (autism & ADHD), dyspraxia and OCD, which understandably influence my work. I’ve created many self-portraits and projects focusing on my experiences of living with these.

I’ve been lucky to have had my work published and exhibited internationally. The experience of seeing and feeling my images in print or hung up on a wall is one of my primary motivations. I think it’s really important to print your work and creating with tangible imagery is what really drives me. There’s just nothing else quite like it.

As well as my self-portraiture, I also work with models, musicians and actors of all levels of experience. I can be contacted by email: iamelegia@gmail.com

I’m online a lot.
(I hope you like cats).
